Since we have been discussing Tarot this week, I’ve chosen to do the weekly card reading with my Universal Waite Deck. I have pulled five cards total. The top two represent the overall energy of May, and the bottom three represent the energy of this upcoming week.
(Going from the top left to the bottom right).
-The Eight of Pentacles, reversed
-The Devil, reversed
-Ace of Wands, reversed
-The Eight of Cups
The two cards representing the energy of May are the Eight of Wands and The Devil. Both are reversed. Reversed cards tend to scare people into thinking that something bad is going to happen. This is not the case. You may also be feeling put off by the appearance of The Devil. In Tarot, The Devil is actually a very good card, when reversed. When upright, it is not bad. But it means there is more work to be done for growth and change. The Devil upright means that you are chained to someone or something. Here, in his reversed state, the card means that you are breaking away from something that is no longer meeting your needs or making you happy. This makes a lot of sense, because the first card for the month of May, the Eight of Pentacles, means that you have been feeling stagnant, and that your needs are not being met. This tells me that during this month, you will be noticing where you feel stagnant. You will be noticing what is and isn’t working for you. And by the end of the month, you will be freeing yourself from those chains. The Devil card reversed can also symbolize spiritual awakening. So from freeing yourself, you will be able to awaken your spirituality and intuition.
The bottom three cards represent this week, in general. The Ace of Wands signifies creativity and new projects underway. However, it is also reversed. This simply means there may be some delays before you really get started on your next creative project. When I say creative, this can literally mean anything that you want to create. It may include the arts, or it may include that which you want to manifest in your life. It can also mean further development of the self. No matter how that applies to you, know that something good is coming your way. You are starting to get a feel of where you want to go, but are not quite ready to take action yet.
The Fool represents you preparing to take this next step or journey in your life. The Fool trusts the Universe with all his might. He knows that it will guide him to where he needs to be. This card is full of symbolism. Do you see how the Fool appears as if he is going to walk right off the cliff? This is his trust in the Universe. The dog represents following instincts. The rose, love and romance. And the sack, adaptation. The Fool likes to live life the way he wants. He does this with all of those aspects in mind. Use these same aspects when delving further into your own manifestation journey.
The last card, the Eight of Cups represents walking away from something or someone you once loved. This goes back to what I was saying about the overall energy of this month. You have been feeling stagnant, or chained to something that is not meeting your needs. This week, reflect upon that. Figure out what you want, and where you want to go. Let go of things that no longer serve you, as this is the way to spiritual awakening, and the manifestation of the life you dream of.
I quickly want to talk about the energy of May from a numerology perspective. May is the fifth month of the year, so its number is 5. The number 5 represent change. Expect changes this month, but know that they will be in your highest good. Remember to keep your thoughts positive, as they create your future. Also, Mercury goes direct on the 3rd. Once Mercury goes direct you are in the clear to start brand new projects!
- What do you want to create in your life?
- Where are your needs being met? Where are they not?
- How can you incorporate the aspects of The Fool into your life?
- What is spirituality to you?
I feel like this month is going to be a great one, filled with growth and joy! If you liked this reading, please share it with someone else who will like it too! Don’t forget to follow me on Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest for more daily guidance.
