I’m coining a new term and I am calling it lemonology. What could I possibly mean by that? Well, I’ll put it simply: you know the phrase, “When life gives you lemons, make lemonade,” of course. So, in other words, when life gets sour, you have to find a way to make it sweet again. But I’m going to give you a little lemony twist here – remember how I’ve talked about the fact that our thoughts create our reality? And by having positive thoughts, we see the changes in our lives that we want to see? Lemonology, is my new way of saying negative terminology. See the positive change already?
Here is my list of Lemonology you should try to avoid:
1. Why does this happen to me?
Instead of asking why does something happen to you, ask instead what you can do to prevent these things from happening to you. One huge example for this Lemonology is the desire to lose weight/get in shape, but always seeming to fail. Don’t talk yourself down! Don’t set yourself up for failure by asking why this happens to you. Change your thought process, and lift your spirits. Prepare yourself for success and you will succeed.
2. Why doesn’t this happen to me?
How many times a day do you see something someone posts on social media and think, “Why don’t I have that?” Or perhaps you see others advancing in your chosen profession and you think, “Why aren’t I advancing?” This type of Lemonology is holding you back. In life, you have to focus on all that you do have. When you focus on the good, more good comes to you. Also, keep in mind that everything has Divine Timing. There will come a time when you get the recognition you deserve. And you will probably be really pleased with the timing.
3. I can’t do it.
Oh, this Lemonology. This one is sour. Life gets tough, we all know this. But by saying, “I can’t do it,” you are basically condemning yourself. There is nothing wrong with letting go of things, situations, or people, that no longer serve you. There is nothing wrong with changing your mind about something, and wanting to take another direction. However, there are some things in life we can’t rid ourselves of quickly. There are some things, that no matter how much we don’t like them, we have to muddle through. This is where you must change your thoughts into something sweeter. Know you can handle anything in life, because if you couldn’t, your soul would not have agreed to it. You are a Divine Spark of Light. Trust that you are strong enough to get through anything, and know that everything is temporary, anyway.
What types of Lemonology have you used in your vocabulary? Are there any you would add to my list? Let me know! Lemonology is literally a term that came to me for this lesson. I’m sure there are many other Lemonology words we could list. Remember the key point here is to change our lemony thoughts. What better way to begin than with a cutesy, simple, phrase?
