Unwash, The New Clean.
Hey hey ladies. This is a post that has been a long time coming. I purchased sample bottles of Unwash in early December, and as soon as I picked up the bottles, I knew this was the start of something good.
What first attracted me to Unwash was the fact that this is not a normal shampoo. Now, you know I am all about all-natural, new agey, DIY things, right? I had been wanting to figure out how to make my own non-shampoo at home. Of course, I had no idea where to begin. So, when I saw Unwash, I was like, “Oh hell yes.”
Basically, Unwash cleanses your hair in a gentler way than traditional shampoo. It removes dirt and build-up without stripping your hair of its natural, healthy, oils. This means it is free of parabens and contains zero sulfate detergents. Unwash is safe for all hair types – even color-treated hair. It helps your hair to dry faster, and it makes it more manageable.
How to use it.
Unwash is a co-wash method. First, you apply a good amount of the Anti-Residue Cleanse to wet hair. Be sure to massage it from your roots through your ends. This first step removes layers of build-up that are negatively effecting your hair. If your hair seems heavy and like it has no body, this baby will fix it right up. After a few minutes of a good wash, rinse and apply the Unwash Hydrating Masque.
Be sure to pull the Masque through your roots to your tips, as well. Leave this one on for 3-4 minutes. This baby restores your hair with natural oils and extracts. It helps your hair to be softer, smoother, and look shinier and healthier! I tend to use these two together, the most, because I go a few days without washing my hair. I’m a dry shampoo girl, you know that. I just found out that Unwash has their own dry shampoo. Guess what I’ll be getting next?
The third piece I received in my original kit is the Bio-Cleansing Conditioner. This guy can be used daily or pretty much whenever you want. It is kind of like the first two combined. It doesn’t strip your hair of its natural oils, and it leaves your hair more manageable and full of body, and it keeps it from getting frizzy.
Unwash for the win.
So yeah, I totally love Unwash. I definitely noticed my hair is full of body when I use the first two pieces. And it is so totally easy to comb through. One thing I noticed though, is that the Bio-Cleansing Conditioner is better if used daily. I tried using it after not washing my hair for a few days, and even after my hair was dry, it looked greasy. Could just be my hair – could be that I didn’t use it daily.
If you are a lady that can’t leave the house without washing their hair, but is tired of the harshness of regular shampoo, the Bio-Cleansing Conditioner will suit you well. 😉
But all in all, I am super stoked about Unwash and what they are accomplishing! They are totally changing traditional hair-care, by bringing us back to basics. Who knew that could be a thing? I really love the idea of truly cleansing my hair of build-up. How cool is it that you can ensure your hair stays fresh and natural on the daily?
