When life gives you lemons…
Life as a human is both a challenging and beautiful gift. Your life can change in a second, or you could feel like you haven’t moved at all in months. There are ups and downs to almost everything. So, what can you do to help yourself make it through each day with a full heart and truly live a life you love – no matter what is going on externally?
A common phrase in the spiritual community is raise your vibration. What we mean when we say this is move your perspective and shift your mood to help yourself. I am a huge believer that we create our realities. We hold the power within ourselves to create our life each moment of every day. Sometimes it can be difficult to move yourself out of a bad mood or a bad day. This is normal, this is human.
What is important is that you do not allow yourself to get stuck in the lower vibrational frequencies. I define lower vibration frequencies as feelings of self-doubt, hatred, anger, sadness, anxiety, stress, etc. Higher vibrations, to me, are love, happiness, joy, gratitude, and playfulness. To be able to raise your vibration, you must realize when you are experiencing one of the lower vibrations, and you must consciously make the decision to move out of that vibration, into one that makes you feel better.
Accepting & Releasing.
When you find yourself experiencing a lower vibrational frequency, do not, I repeat DO NOT fall deeper into the mood by beating yourself up about it. What a lot of people don’t realize is that feeling bad is actually a good thing. See, when you feel down, it is because your Higher Self is trying to communicate something to you. You have this inner knowing that something is not in alignment with you.
This is the point where bad becomes good. When you become aware that something is not in alignment with your truth, it is time for you to find a way to change. This could mean a lot of things depending on the situation. Sometimes it is your thought process that needs to be changed. Sometimes it is the actual situation or person that you need to distance yourself from. Whatever it is, make sure that you are going within first.
Always check in with yourself. Ask yourself questions as to what triggered your mood shift? Ask, why am I feeling this way? See where it goes from there. Did someone say something that bothered you? Ask yourself why their comment got to you. What is underneath the surface that is causing you to feel this resistance?
When you feel resistance come up and you are experiencing a low vibrational frequency, remember to honor yourself, your body, and your mind. Trust that these things are coming up for you for a reason. Ever heard the term blesson? (Blessing and lesson.)
Accept that you are feeling the way you are. And after you talk with yourself and find out why you are experiencing this, accept that, too. By doing these things you are honoring yourself, your mind, and your body. You are letting yourself know that you are safe and that it is okay for you to feel this way. Acceptance helps you to release.
Make the conscious effort and commitment to yourself to release the resistance you are feeling. Make the decision to let go of feeling nasty, and do something to raise your spirits. What makes you feel good? What brings you joy? Allow yourself to play and affirm you are ready to shift from a dark mood to a light mood. It really is that simple, my friends.
So, you experienced something that made you feel shitty. You recognized it, honored it, accepted it, and released it. What next?
Well, as I said in the beginning of this post, we are humans, and our lives have many ups and downs. The key here is learning to recognize when we are condemning ourselves, and making the decision to create a shift.
When we find ourselves feeling stagnant or upset, we must continue the practice of the things I said above. Recognize, honor, accept, and release. This is how you will start to manifest the life of your dreams.
When you are constantly trying to stay in a positive, high vibration, things will just sort of click for you. You will attract experiences and people who are in alignment with your truth. You will attract the things you desire and you will be able to give more of yourself to your passions and your loved ones. Keep the peace and love within, and the universe will provide for you.
And remember, finding this balance can take time. Give yourself love through the whole ride. I have faith in you!
